Hello parents!  It has been so great to make initial contact with you.  Yes, we are working together through the glitches, but I want to thank you for your support and your perseverance.  I am learning how to navigate through this with you.  I support you and I am so thankful that you equally have support for me.  It has been wonderful to chat individually with your child.......I miss them so much and it has been a blessing to connect and hear and see them. We will keep this up, it is so valuable!  I am overwhelmed but pleased with the feedback on the lesson plans.  Good on you, mom,dad, grandparents and all who are helping your child, grandchild to succeed!  This is not an easy endeavor, but thank you for all you have done.  The pictures, the videos, are fantastic, and stored in your child's file.  Again, thank you for your support.

Day 3---April 8, 2020

____Calendar…...print in new number.  Talk about today, yesterday and tomorrow.  Can you say the day, date, year for each entry?  Yes you can!

____Weather…..fill in graph day 3

____Spelling:  One more time.  Blue Spelling books…..mix up the words in different order and have someone tell you the word, sound out the letters and try to spell.  Remember if you spell it correctly, give yourself a silent cheer. If not, erase, and correct. You can do this!

____Writing: Orange duotang.  Can you do another page in the booklet?  Yes you can!

____Reading:  You know it. Quiet reading alone for 10 minutes.  Look at books, read books but certainly enjoy a quiet time.  We’ve done this at school, you can do this at home!

____Reading: Ok, Let’s work one more time on the home reading program.  If you think you are ready to read a book to me, ask Mom/Dad to send a video of you reading the book.  Let me see the title and I can’t wait to hear you read! But if you are not ready, that’s ok, practise again.  You can do this!

____Math:  You are doing amazing with addition!  Let’s keep going. No blocks, but you can do this with a numberline.  You are so smart! Let’s do this one more workpage with addition.  

____Science:  Let’s go to Brain Pop Jr. and find out about our new habitat.  Forest. Can you link on and hear all about it? Go to my blog and you will see the link.  You need to go to Science and then habitats---voila---- good for you.. Now you got it!

____Spellling:  How about Hangman?  Let’s give the first clue and watch and work and see if you can spell the spelling word before you are hung.  Can you play this with mom or dad or brother or sister?

____Reading:  Can you send a video of your reading?  Great job and I’m so proud of you. Not ready yet? That is ok, you are doing your best and I know it.. Can you keep practising

_____Math:   Let’s take a look at measurement. Can  you look at the first page of the booklet I sent you?  Find something in your house to measure with your shoe.  This is a lot of fun. Let’s remember to start at the very beginning edge and measure.  Do you have a partner? How about mom/dad/brother/sister?

“The Thing About Spring” by Daniel Kirk.  It’s a read-aloud story (8 min) You will enjoy this story as it is read to
you, with pictures to accompany.  Click on the link below for the story. Question to think and discuss at the
end of the story: What do you like best about spring?  Now let’s do a work page about spring.
After filling in the blanks, go ahead and color the picture using your crayons or pencil crayons.
