Criminal Record Check
Our first field trip is coming up soon. Just a reminder that our Field trip policy requires that all parents and grandparents who wish to come with us on our fieldtrips must have a valid criminal record check. Here is some info that you may find helpful:
- If you did a criminal record check for your child when they were in Kindergarten, it will still be valid. Criminal record checks are valid for two years.
- If you do not know when your criminal record check expires or if you have one, the office can look it up for you.
- If you need to have one completed, please email the office and they will prepare a letter for you to drop off at the police station. There is no cost to you.
Orange Shirt Day
A new addition to our September calendar! On Monday, September 30th we will be participating in Orange Shirt day. Students may come to school wearing casual bottoms and an orange shirt. If you aren’t wearing an orange shirt, you are wearing your uniform as per usual. We will use this opportunity to talk to our students about how ‘Every Child Matters’.

Apple Tasting
We are learning about the upcoming fall season and the changes it brings about in nature, animals, and people. It is a cycle of life that God created. As part of the unit, we talked about and read books about apple harvesting. Last week we did some apple tasting (Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith and McIntosh). We voted on which was the best and most of the students voted for the McIntosh! Here is a picture of our tasting one of the apples:
Planners
Tuesday, September 24---I will be sending home the student planners. Here's how the planner works. Students will print a morning message every morning on the day/date. I will check and initial their message. They will take the planner home at the end of the day. Please take a moment to read their message and initial the message so that I know you have read it. Students are required to bring their planner to school everyday for each message. The planner gives you an opportunity to see how they are printing and if you need to communicate something to me, you may also use this to write a message, as I will be reading and checking their planner everyday. Students who have parent signatures for the week ( not in advance please) will get a small prize.
